Everyone knows that the Best Lightweight Rain Gear For Fishing is very important for when the day looks a little ominous, or even to have on hand just in case of a surprise shower. We’ve been out on the water in downpours, and on the shore when it’s spritzing, and without the right gear we can’t stay as long. No one likes being wet in the wind. In order to enjoy oneself fishing, it’s important to be prepared to be dry.

While we do our best to plan our trips, we can’t plan the weather, only plan for it. We have compiled a list of what we think are the best options to mitigate the threat of bad weather.

We will look at different options for different budgets. If you want to be able to fish year round, and in any condition, you need to find options for all types of wet weather, cold or hot.

Top Rated Rain Suits for Fishing

Frogg Toggs Ultra-Lite2 Water-Resistant Breathable Rain Suit

This waterproof Ultra-Lite rain suit includes the jacket and pant as pictured. The jacket has a nice adjustable hood with cord locks, so you can make sure your hood is secured even in strong winds. The jacket also has a full front zipper with a storm flap to keep the water from seeping through the zipper. The pants have a elastic waist along with a straight leg design. You also get a nice stuff sack to keep your gear stowed away when it’s not raining.

While this rain suit is lightweight, it may not be as durable as the other options, which is fine as it’s a low cost option that should any rips or tears occur, you can buy another one. I like to keep this stowed away for those times when a surprise shower kicks up, but is not my main choice for when I know the weather will be bad.

Coleman PVC/Nylon Rain Suit

This Coleman PVC/Nylon Rain suit is waterproof and durable. Made with 20mm PVC with nylon lining, it also boasts a drawcord adjustable hood and cuffs, with both the leg openings and waist being adjustable. There is a storage bag that comes with to easily store this rain suit. Unlike the Fogg Toggs suit above this rain suit does have jacket pockets on the exterior, which does come in handy.

The knees on the pants are articulated, so you will have a good range of motion, and we like the fact that the pant cuffs have a zipper closure and snap adjustment, to make it easy to pull over boots and keep in place.

I also wear glasses so I found it nice that the hood has a little visor which keeps the rain off. This is a stylish rain suit that will keep you dry.
